Climate change is now widely recognized as the major environmental problem facing the globe. Natural disasters occurred by impacts of climate change cause a huge losses of life and property and the incidence is on the rise. Climate change affects not only human society, but also environment around us. Wetland ecosystem is one of the most significant habitat for hundreds of plants and animals, but it is considered to be highly vulnerable to any environmental changes. Although enormous efforts have been made in various ways, it is not sufficient to deal with the impact of climate change. GREF and co-organizers would like to make an opportunity to exchange opinions on possible threatening impacts of climate change to wetlands and to discuss appropriate countermeasure against climate change.
