Consistent with IUCN priorities, over the past decade there has been significant growth in the development and application of a range of tools to assess the management effectiveness of Protected Areas. Participants in this Conservation Campus will:
* Gain a global understanding of types of assessment tools, status and application of Protected Area Management Evaluation (PAME) assessments.
* Learn from experienced practitioners about the evolution and lessons learned from the application of PAME site assessment and system assessment tools.
* Discuss and learn from case studies demonstrating the latest thinking in data analysis, application, communication tools and approaches for PAME assessments.
* Discuss future directions for PAME assessments.
The Conservation Campus will include short presentations of case studies, interactive small group discussions and panel discussions. It will include a wide range of PAME tools with examples from around the world including South America, Africa, Australia, Europe and Asia.
Small group discussions will include demonstrations of recent innovations in PAME tools including approaches to applying the IUCN ME framework, data analysis and communication and reporting tools.
Note that small group discussions will include case studies in languages other than english.
