Learn how to train business on ecosystems

Need to raise your business partners’ awareness about biodiversity? Learn more about Business Ecosystems Training, a capacity building program for business about biodiversity and ecosystem services.

Business Ecosystems Training program (BET) is a capacity building program designed to improve the understanding of managers and employees across business functions about their company’s direct and indirect impact and dependence on ecosystems. Designed specifically for business, it incorporates WBCSD methodologies, materials and tools that have been developed over the course of 10 years, as well as material from other institutions. The development of the BET course was supported by member company KPMG and a network of global companies, environmental NGOs, UN, academic and environmental institutions including IUCN. BET is freely available on the WBCSD website, and can be used by a wide range of stakeholders to train business and raise awareness about ecosystem-related issues.

This Conservation Campus aims to introduce BET beyond WBCSD’s membership, and encourage other stakeholders to use the material and deliver the program to their business partners.

It will help participants acquire the specific knowledge enabling them to plan and customize BET training sessions targeted at business. Participants will work on exercises drawn from BET different modules, which will help them understand how BET is structured, how it works and how it can be delivered and tailored for specific sessions.
