The Forum is a public gathering hosted by the world’s conservation community, bringing together people from all over the world to discuss, share and learn. Addressing the world’s most pressing sustainable development challenges, the Forum offers a unique platform for debates, workshops, dialogues, roundtable discussions, training courses, music and exhibitions, from the 7th through the 11th September 2012.
The Forum opening Ceremony will mark the beginning of 5 days of intense activity within the Congress. Thought as a link between the Congress Opening Ceremony (6th September, 16h30) and the 600+ events of the Forum itself, the Forum Opening will outline the technical framework of the Forum discussions. Through the participation of renown experts like Rachel Kyte, Vice-President for Sustainable Development at the World Bank, the session will shed some light on the conceptual and scientific background of the Congress' overarching theme: Nature+. The session will also be an opportunity to understand better the draft IUCN Programme 2013-2016 to be approved during the Members Assembly. Joel Sartore, National Geographic Photographer and Speaker, will act as the Master of Ceremonies of this session, and will guide us through the structure and meaning of these 5 days of Forum - a meaning closely related to the draft IUCN Programme 2013-2016.
You can find the draft agenda of this session under the section "Documents".
