The environmental problems we currently face are too severe and urgent to ignore. Frequent unusual disasters and extreme weather events in recent years are signs of this urgency. People may call them ‘'natural disasters’', but I don’'t agree with them.
Humankind has caused these problems through recklessness, and unrestrained use of natural resources. We will face more unimaginable disasters in the near future if we don’t recognize and act to solve these urgent problems right away. Actually these disasters have already started.
The next three tasks are the most important ones we should work together.
To solve :
First, prevent desertification
Second, make more green surface
Third, develop alternate energy
There is a certain order when you work with this.
First we should look at how we can prevent desertification. These days global warming is a big issue for environmental groups. As they deeply correlate to one another, not only global warming but also extreme weather and disasters can be prevented by solving the problem of desertification.
Second, making more grassland and woodland will prevent desertification and recover our green environment. Dense forests will clean the air and reduce the radiant heat, caused by 'global cement culture'.
Third, we should develop alternative clean energy. To substitute fossil fuel, we have to develop solar power, geothermal energy, tidal energy, wave energy and wind power for our daily usage. Fossil fuel is a limited resource and also a major cause of air pollution. To collect fossil fuel we exploit the natural environment, and later this damage becomes the main cause of global disasters.
If we work on these three tasks together, putting desertification prevention on priority, then we will have a bright and green world.
