Conservation Campus, "Conservation and Sustainable Use of Ganghwa tidal flat" aims to educate participants how to balance conservation and use of Ganghwa tidal flat, which has rich biodiversity and various tourism resources. The target of this training course will be protected areas managers, NGOs and many stakeholders.
Ganghwa tidal flat has its geographical and political significance since it is located at the transboundary area of South Korea and North Korea. It is also listed as one of the five tidal flats in the world. Even though it´s importance on biodiversity and impact on human being, tidal flat is on the target of development such as building of power plant, reclamation and etc. In this context it is necessary to provide public the opportunity to learn the values of tidal flat as well as knowledge and skills that enable him or her to contribute to viable and ecologically sustainable future of Ganghwa tidal flat.
