H.E. Mr. Henri Djombo was born in the region of Likouala (northern Congo). He studied in Leningrad (Soviet Union). He joined the Public service of his country in 1976, and attained the position of Director General of the Rural Economy in 1979, then Minister of Water Affairs and Forestry from 1980 to 1985. He was Ambassador based in Bulgaria, CEO of the sugar refinery of the Republic of Congo, and he is a member of the Political Bureau of the PCT since 1989.
H.E. Mr. Djombo is member of the Congolese government since the President Denis Sassou-Nguesso returned to power in 1997. His current title is Minister of Sustainable Development, Forestry Economy and the Environment. Visionary in terms of cooperation at sub-regional, regional and international levels, Minister Djombo is the initial promoter for the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Amazon, Congo, and Borneo-Mekong Forest Basins, which was held in Brazzaville, Congo, on 3rd June 2012.
