Michael Mack is Chief Executive Officer of Syngenta AG, a world-leading agribusiness listed on the Swiss and New York stock exchanges. Syngenta was formed in November 2000 as a result of the demerger and merger of the respective agribusinesses of Novartis and AstraZeneca.
Mike joined Syngenta in 2002 as Head of the North American Crop Protection business. In January 2005 he became Chief Operating Officer of Syngenta Seeds and a member of the Syngenta Executive Committee. Mike was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce in 2009.
Prior to joining Syngenta, Mike was President of the Global Paper Division of Imerys SA, a French mining and pigments company, from 1999 when it merged with English China Clays Ltd. At English China Clays he was Executive Vice President, Americas and Pacific Region as well as an Executive Director of the Board. From 1987 to 1996 he held various roles within Mead Corporation.
Mike has a degree in economics from Kalamazoo College in Michigan, has studied at the University of Strasbourg and holds an MBA from Harvard University.
