Mr. Rafael MÉNDEZ

Rafael Méndez (Murcia, Spain, 1975) works as a reporter at one of the Spanish leading newspapers, EL PAIS, since 2002. Environmental writer with special focus on energy and climate change, he has covered the UN climate conferences since Bali (2007) and was a special envoy in 2011 to Japan to cover the Fukushima nuclear crisis.
He has a degree in Pharmacy and a masters in Journalism. In 2001, he worked for the European Institute of Environment in Bordeaux (France) as a microbiologist.

H.E. Ms. Razan AL MUBARAK

Razan Al Mubarak is Secretary-General of the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD). EAD is Abu Dhabi’s environmental regulatory authority, established in 1996 with the objective of protecting and conserving the environment as well as promoting sustainable development. She is Managing Director of the Emirates Wildlife Society in association with the WWF (EWS-WWF) as well as the Mohamed Bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund.

Mr. Braulio Ferreira de Souza DIAS

Dr. Dias has over three decades of experience in biodiversity science and policy and its implementation at national and international levels. He obtained a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Brasilia and a PhD in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh.

He worked as division chief for environmental studies for the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, and as Associate Professor of Forest Protection and Ecology at the University of Brasilia.

Mr. André HOFFMANN

Mr. André Hoffmann, Swiss national, born in 1958, pursued studies in economics at the University of St. Gallen and received a Masters of Business Administration from INSEAD.

Mr. Hoffmann is non-executive Vice President of Roche Holdings Ltd and of Givaudan SA. He chairs the board of Living Planet Fund Management SA. Massellaz SA as well as Nemadi Advisors Ltd. He is also a board member of the following companies : Amazentis SA, Genentech Inc., Glyndebourne Productions Ltd. and MedAssurant, Inc.

H.E. Dr. Young Sook YOO has been serving as the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea since May 2011. As a supporter of mobilizing global action for environmental protection and one of the key figures in the field of science, Minister YOO spearheads the effort to help the global community share their environmental policies and experiences.
