The pattern and occurrence of marine benthic harpacticoid copepods depending on habitats

The small animal group, marine benthic harpacticoid copepods are one of the most dominat taxon in meiofauna. However the taxon is still poorly known to world, there are many possibilities to discover new taxa. We want to introduce the animal and its importance, and to present biodiversity depending on various habitats.

Possible threatening impacts of climate change to wetland ecosystem and appropriate countermeasures

Climate change is now widely recognized as the major environmental problem facing the globe. Natural disasters occurred by impacts of climate change cause a huge losses of life and property and the incidence is on the rise. Climate change affects not only human society, but also environment around us. Wetland ecosystem is one of the most significant habitat for hundreds of plants and animals, but it is considered to be highly vulnerable to any environmental changes. Although enormous efforts have been made in various ways, it is not sufficient to deal with the impact of climate change.

Recovering Kashmir Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hanglu) from its relic population in Dachigam National Park of Jammu and Kashmir State, India.

The only population of Kashmir Red Deer or Hangul (Cervus elaphus hanglu), endemic to Jammu and Kashmir State of India, has drastically declined with its population figures bouncing down from 2000 in 1947 to mere 200 heads in 2011, thereby pushing the species squarely towards extinction. Shrinking habitat, over the years, forced the confinement of this animal to Dachigam N. Park of Jammu and Kashmir, which, down the timeline, got its identity established as last abode of hangul.
