HELP subsidy recipients are noting at least 15% increases in efficiency over previous consumption rates. It has also encouraged FSMDB to request options for the establishment of a fund providing renewable energy subsidies for households to contribute to decentralized sustainable energy generation.

Expansion to the other three states has been hampered by the process of identifying and securing qualified suppliers/contractors.

Influencia pol�tica/promoci�n de pol�ticasFSMDB and IUCN are working with partners such as the Secretariat of the Pacific Community and both the Energy Planning Office and Dept. of Justice regarding the necessary net metering legislation and establishment of a feed-in tariff to facilitate the introduction of renewable energy systems and create an attractive policy/economic environment for the general public to participate in decentralized generation.
