Describe the results/achievements of the actions taken: 
The objectives of this Rec. are now included in the priority actions of the IUCN members involved. Two regional meetings have been convened (Antigua Guatemala, 2016 and Montevideo, Uruguay 2017) that have identified key priority actions that should be implemented to pursue the objectives of this Rec. A project proposal for Capacity Development in the LAC region is in preparation for submission to EC/DEVCO is in the process to be developed for LAC region to support implementation. A number of pilot activities will be implemented in 2018 as part of the BIOPAMA-II Programme.
What challenges/obstacles have been encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and how were they overcome : 
Key challenge is the lack of financial resources to support implementation. A project proposal is in the process to be developed to overcome this problem. This project proposal counts with the support from OAPN (Spain) and AECID (Spain) and operationally GPAP, IUCN-SUR and IUCN-ORMACC are involved.
Briefly describe what future actions are needed for the implementation of this Resolution: 
- Influencing other IUCN members, particularly in ACP countries where BIOPAMA-II operates.
- Finalize and initiate negotiation of the project proposal for CD in the LAC region.
- Initiate negotiation of this proposal with the donor.
