The main achievement is to prepare a draft of the Best Practice Guidelines through the activities of the WCPA Specialist Group on Cultural and Spiritual Values of Protected Areas, with the support of the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation.

The resolution calls for capacity development, and wide dissemination of the material that will be compiled in the Best Practice Guidelines. In the short term the guidelines need to be peer reviewed and approved for publication.
