Describe the results/achievements of the actions taken: 
- Member Indigenous Peoples Organisations met in early March 2018 to define a self-determined strategy on how to advance indigenous issues within IUCN and in conservation . This was supported by CEESP and the Global Programme on Governance and Rights and will be essential in guiding further work on this Resolution. A follow up IPO regional representatives meeting was held in May 2018 in Halifax.
- IPO representatives were part of the IUCN Delegations for UNPFII, CBD, UNFCC and World Heritage. An IPO representative delivered a statement on behalf of IUCN at the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in April, which was the first time this has happened.
- Ramiro Batzin (as IPO Global Focal Point) was appointed to Council in 2018, as a member of the Governance and Constituency Committee (GCC)
- A Working Group on Membership Fees was established and submitted a proposal to Council for revised IPO membership Fees.
- An activity report from the Commission on Education and Communication noted that the last few years in Canada, non-First Nations have come out in greater numbers in support of indigenous rights to have control over their land and to exercise their rights that have been enshrined in the UN Declaration on the Rights of indigenous peoples.




What challenges/obstacles have been encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and how were they overcome : 
Challenges include a need for further funding to implement the IPO strategy, which is made a priority for 2019. IUCN is also in the process of recruiting an Indigenous Peoples Programme Officer who will be responsible for moving this work forward.
Briefly describe what future actions are needed for the implementation of this Resolution: 
Future actions include the implementation of the IPO strategy. Priorities for 2019 include fundraising, planning an Indigenous Peoples Forum as part of WCC in 2020, support IPO Councillor and Programme development to include IP issues, continue work on Membership dues, statutes, increase IPO membership and participate in the Regional Conservation Fora.
