The IUCN SSC Genetic Conservation Specialist Group, together with IUCN Secretariat engaged with the post-2020 global biodiversity framework (GBF)process and advocated for genetic diversity in the goal and targets of the GBF. It was adopted last year with the inclusion of the genetic diversity conservation.

The resolution called and urged IUCN Members to take into consideration of genetic diversity, it's a very high level ask ant is not easy to take action. There are no reports from any IUCN Members on this resolution.
