Influencia poltica/promocin de polticasThe IUCN Biodiversity & Family Planning Task Force has researched and published its guidance, “Reproductive choice in national biodiversity policy: Guidance on how to ensure PHE and removing barriers to rights-based and voluntary family planning are included in NBSAPs”. This guidance was written as an easy-to-follow guide on the background to the Convention on Biological Diversity; NBSAPs; the GBF targets; how to engage in national processes updating NBSAPs and the arguments which can be used, when engaging in that process, to gain references to family planning and/or PHE in them. This activity responds directly to the following call in WCC 2020 Res 072 “CALLS ON State Members to consider including the importance of rights-based voluntary family planning in their NBSAPs and other national planning documents that draw attention to the impact of human population growth on ecosystems and ecosystem services” The Task Force has made initial contact with the CBD national focal points of 28 countries, to implement the points stated in the guidance.
