This is the first insect Action Plan prepared by the IUCN Species Survival Commission, and was chosen because swallowtail butterflies are perhaps the most charismatic to non-entomologists.

The eleven technical papers are the culmination of the first phase to review the natural resource status of these two areas, to design a fully integrated wetland management project, and to develop public awareness of the project's approach to integrating wetlands conservation and development.

This action plan gives a comprehensive survey of the distribution and conservation status of wild camelids in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Peru and identifies their conservation needs.

This volume provides the most comprehensive review available of the conservation status of African primates. Thirty species, comprising over 50% of the primate fauna of the continent, have been identified as threatened, ranging from the little-known Angwantibo to the gorilla and chimpanzee.
