ActionDescription
Activits de terrainAs per the resolution, turtle species are eligible for SOS funded grants and have been the recipient of SOS grants. An example of this was a project to help protect and conserve the South East Asian Terrapins. Activits techniques/scientifiquesA total of 43 species of freshwater and marine turtles and tortoises have been assessed / re-assessed on the IUCN Red List since 2012. A number of important activities are being undertaken by the respective SSC Specialist Groups - the Marine Turtle Specialist Group and Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group.
Veuillez indiquer quels ont été les résultats obtenus dans le cadre des activités entreprises pour la mise en œuvre de cette Résolution:
Both the IUCN SSC Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group and the IUCN SSC Marine Turtle Specialist Group are some of our most active Specialist Groups in the SSC and are continuing implementation towards the implementation of this resolution. The Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group has been particularly involved in CITES-related turtle issues (e.g. developing guidance for the making of non-detriment findings for turtle species in international trade). The Marine Turtle Specialist Group has been particularly focused on such initiatives as the State of the World’s Sea Turtles (SWOT) and Global Sea Turtle Tracking Initiative.
Quelles mesures ont été prises afin de surmonter ces obstacles ?:
As with most other species-related actions, there are always limitations with resources to conduct the work needed.
