The dialogue convened governments, civil society and the private sector in regional workshops and a global conference. IUCN PACO has also convened the West Africa regional...
Autre activit�A draft IUCN strategy on dams has been completed to follow up further on the Res 4.089. The next step will be consultations with IUCN Members.
Activit�s visant � influencer et/ou promouvoir les politiquesIUCN Global Water Programme has joined the environmental chamber of the protocol governance committee of the Hydropower Sustainability Assessment Protocol, working alongside TNC and WWF, with a view to promoting continuous improvement in environmental performance of hydropower.
Activit�s techniques/scientifiquesIUCN Global Water Programme is implementing a 4 year scientific assessment of applications of natural infrastructure as nature-based solutions for water storage and infrastructure functions.

The Nexus Dialogue provided a platform for sharing lessons and has resulted in publication of a set of 6 synthesis papers on innovation for water infrastructure from environmental, financing, engineerinig and governance perspectives. The process has also contributed directly to the preparation of new financing strategies for nexus-based design of infrastructure, including nature-based solutions, for example by the EU. The West Africa Dialogue on Dams has been instrumental in shaping regional ECOWAS strategy on hydraulic infrastructure.
