Activit�s techniques/scientifiques2 articles published: : ” Changes in protected area management effectiveness over time: A global analysis" (Biological Conservation 191 (2015) 692–699). and ” International funding agencies: potential leaders of impact evaluation in protected areas? (http://dx.doi.org/10.1098/rstb.2014.0283)
Activit�s techniques/scientifiquesCompiled a unique global database on marine protected effectiveness and governance, drawing on the work of many other researchers, exploring link to Protected Planet.
Activit�s techniques/scientifiquesCompleted a global review of all available Management Effectiveness Tracking Tools (METTs). identifying and cataloging 2094 METT assessments from the GEF and UNDP PMIS project folders provided. These were placed into a quality-assured data base and shared with the UNEP-WCMP to be linked to Protected Planet.

Significant progress have been achieve in particular through the development of data systems for collection and publication of data linking biodiversity and PA (marine and terrestrial) and linkage to existing initiatives.
The Task Force places a post-doctoral researcher at ZSL for 1 year to gather and direct the input of data to the LPI. This effort increased the number of protected area data sets in wildlife population abundance by over 20%. We understand that UNEP-WCMP is exploring connecting this LPI database to Protected Planet.
This has led to numerous collaborations and increased networking in this field.
