Describe the results/achievements of the actions taken: 
The main implementation of this resolution has been carried out by the IUCN SSC Giraffe and Okapi Specialist Group in collaboration with many partners.

Education/Communication/Raising awareness: Provided press release and associated media support on the uplisting of giraffe to Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List in December 2016
Education/Communication/Raising awareness: Supported the first-ever World Okapi Day - 18 October and 3rd/4th World Giraffe Day - 21 June.
Education/Communication/Raising awareness: Supported the 30 year anniversary of Okapi Conservation Project with a 30 day awareness campaign
Policy influencing/advocacy: carried out new IUCN Red List assessments for giraffe, and the species was uplisted to Vulnerable in December 2016.
Policy influencing/advocacy: Supported the proposal development and listing of giraffe on Appendix II of the Convention of Migratory Species (CMS).
Scientific/technical activities: Supported the development of Tanzania National Giraffe Country Profile and assessment of giraffe numbers and range; and supported the development of the first-ever National Giraffe Conservation Strategy in Uganda,2017.

Field activities: In the Okapi Faunal Reserve, 50 poaching and mining camps were removed/destroyed and illegal weapons, equipment and other contraband were confiscated by ICCN. ICCN also ceased an illegal gold mine with support from the Congolese Army, the Okapi Conservation Project and other partners.
What challenges/obstacles have been encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and how were they overcome : 
No challenges were reported from activity report. Overall, the implementation of this resolution is on track and progressing well. The IUCN SSC Giraffe and Okapi Specialist Group has been implementing well this resolution.
Briefly describe what future actions are needed for the implementation of this Resolution: 
Communications: produce press releases and associated media support on the red listing of giraffe species on the IUCN Red List in 2018
Scientific/technical activities: carry out IUCN Red List assessment of Okapi in 2018-19; and Red List assessments of giraffe subspecies.

Scientific/technical activities: Support to development of first-ever National Giraffe Conservation Strategy and Action Plan in Tanzania

Scientific/technical activities: carry out taxonomic review of giraffe in 2019-20
