The resolution has led to a range of activities that have resulted in the formation of a wide network of organisations interested in protected-area friendly production. The network is global, although most of the on-the-ground activities directly associated with the group are in China.
GPAP has been assisting with the development of TORs that can be approved by WCPA.
What challenges/obstacles have been encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and how were they overcome :
Defining exactly what is the scope of this initiative has proved problematical. Several attempts have been made to develop operational TORs for a Specialist Group under WCPA, but agreement has yet to be reached on these.
