Describe the results/achievements of the actions taken:
The Asia Protected Area Partnership has amongst its goals the fostering of transboundary conservation. With a Secretariat supported by the Korean Ministry of the Environment, contributions were made to the World Conservation Leaders Forum with specific sessions devoted to transboundary conservation. An issues brief/background paper was prepared for this.
What challenges/obstacles have been encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and how were they overcome :
There are several agencies working on transboundary conservation, but their work is not coordinated at the level that it is being reported here. There may be a need to engage with the WCPA Specialist Group on Transboundary Conservation to collate further progress on the implementation of this resolution.
Briefly describe what future actions are needed for the implementation of this Resolution:
There are many actions needed, among these convening the appropriate networks to better understand how and where the resolutions is being implemented. Through the Asia Protected Area Partnership, there is an opportunity to plan a workshop for APAP member countries and agencies regarding transboundary conservation in 2018.
