Describe the results/achievements of the actions taken: 
Projects are underway or have been completed with governments in 10 Pacific Island Countries under the Energy, Ecosystems and Sustainable Livelihoods Initiative (EESLI). All reporting for the GEF Pacific Alliance for Sustainability Low Carbon Islands project has been delivered. In total, 12 Small Grants Programme projects have been undertaken in Fiji, PNG, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

IUCN ORO has established a vital role in facilitating consideration of biodiversity and ecosystem services across the energy/transport, financial, and legal sectors. The role of the environment and natural resources in the provision of energy services continually needs to be reinforced in the policy, planning, and implementation process of government activities concerning energy generation/consumption, and the holistic understanding of how each sector contributes towards recording and reducing emissions is an ongoing point of focus and area for improvement in each Pacific Island Country.
What challenges/obstacles have been encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and how were they overcome : 
Lack of support from the Council, and Global Secretariat (beyond the Oceania Regional Office) to support energy-related initiatives has continued to inhibit the ability of the Climate Change Mitigation & Risk Reduction Programme to expand its programme to meet the expectations of regional partners, and it has meant CCMRR has had to draw stronger linkages with other regional organizations and reorient towards addressing solid waste and plastics through the Pacific Waste Free Islands project starting in 2019.

At the activity level, implementation of projects is often hampered by the capacity strains placed on government focal points and other stakeholders in the Oceania Region.
Briefly describe what future actions are needed for the implementation of this Resolution: 
Again, additional support to upscale projects and technical assistance in the Oceania Region should be committed, and the previous decade of the work programme should be drawn upon to replicate involvement of IUCN in safeguarding biodiversity and valuing ecosystems in the energy sector globally. Energy generation, distribution, and consumption patterns are a fundamental component of how humans related to the world around them.
