IUCN under its Program on Indigenous Peoples and Conservation under the Human Rights in Conservation Team has been working on the implementation of the GEF-Funded Inclusive Conservation Initiative. This is a 5 year initiative that puts indigenous leadership at the forefront of conservation actions. The ICI seeks to promote the direct access of financing for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities to scale-up their conservation actions and contribution to the conservation of biodiversity, leading to global biodiversity benefits.
