ActionDescriptionStatus
FundraisingA project was sent to the NSF-Fapesp Biodiversity in a Changin Planet call, with the goals of understanding spillover risk in areas with both forest loss and forest gain. This project will increase the knowledge about how the loss and gain of forests in tropical areas affects the health of the environment and animals, and consequently the risk of epidemics and pandemics. the grant was awarded in October 2022 and the project starts in January 2023.Completed
Activits visant influencer et/ou promouvoir les politiquesDuring 2022 a climate action plan was created for the state of São Paulo, within the Biota Sintese project, funded by Fapesp. This plan aimed to create public policies within the state of São Paulo to mitigate climate action, and among the proposed activities is the restoration of forests. One of the engagement activities was to try to implement the OneHealth aspect within the restoration activity. The state of São Paulo has a goal to restore 1.5 million hectares of forest by 2050, but depending on how this is done, it can have negative results for zoonosis risk. A report was then developed with the objective of implementing the OneHealth aspect within these activities, showing how restoration should be performed in order to bring positive benefits to human health.Completed
Veuillez indiquer quels ont été les résultats obtenus dans le cadre des activités entreprises pour la mise en œuvre de cette Résolution:
With the start of the grant, from 2023 to 2025 we will have field activities being carried out aimed at understanding how spillover risk occurs in both degraded and restored areas. These results will allow the development of landscape management guidelines, especially for restoration projects, aiming to create low pathogenicity landscapes. In addition, the creation of the Climate Action PAC report allowed the insertion of the One Health concept within the creation of restoration policies for the state of São Paulo.
Quelles mesures ont été prises afin de surmonter ces obstacles ?:
No challenges were found
