FundraisingKolmarden Foundation has supported the work with mammals in the Sahara by supporting projects that does conservation work in the area. The foundation is supporting both the work directly with the mhorr gazelle (Nanger Dama Mhorr) and indirectly the addax anthelope (Addax Nasolacumatos) by funding the work of CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) in Morocco. The project monitors and evaluates the groups of mhorr gazelle that lives in the reserves M'Cicci and Safia, and since addax anthelopes lives in the area of Safia as well they are being indireclty monitored. In 2022 Kolmarden Foundation donated 228 658 SEK (20 764 EUR) to CSIC and their work in Sahara, Morocco. With this funding, among the funding from others, the project focused on setting up camera traps. By observing the animals from the material collected, the project could identify several individuals and make an estimate of how many mhorr gazelles that live in the area - approximatly 23 individuals live in the M'Cicci reserve, there is no data from the Safia reserve yet. Also included in the material was observations of red necked ostrich, scimitar oryx and dorcas gazelle.
