SSC SSG Chair fundraising successfully secured 2.7M USD from Shark Conservation Fund to begin delineation of Important Shark And Ray areas globally and hired a team of 10+ scientists to do these workshops.

CMS CMS ISRA documentation is linked here https://www.cms.int/sites/default/files/document/cms_cop14_doc.27.4.2_isra_e.pdf At the 4th Meeting of the Signatories to the Sharks MOU (MOS4), Signatories welcomed the Initiative and progress made by the IUCN SSC SSG in developing robust selection and review criteria for identifying ISRAs and acknowledged the criteria and identification process posted on the ISRA website (sharkrayareas.org)
