On March 24th 2023, there was a meeting in Monaco where the President of IUCN together with the President of MSC Foundation announced a donation of $400 000 to start to complete the Red List of coral species. This is a first of many future donations to support Red Listing.
From IBAT 2022 allocation, there is a $300 000 commitment to the RL.
There is additional funding from GEF for marine fish, fungi, dung beetles, and freshwater fish.
