OtherThe Motions Advisory Group established by the WCC in 2012 worked with the IUCN Council and Secretariat on a proposal to revise the motions process so that a majority of motions can be debated and voted upon by electronic means prior to the next Congress. Following two Consultations with Members, Council endorsed the proposed amendments and the motion was voted on eletronically by Members.
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken: 
Following an electronic vote in April 2015 in which IUCN Members voted in favour of the proposed amendments, all motions will be discussed online, prior to the Congress, during at least a two month period following which, the Motions Working Group will put a substantial number of motions to an electronic vote by IUCN Members prior to the Congress. This will not apply to: motions that warrant debate at the global level during the Congress (of significant importance for conservation) and motions that have been the subject of such (online) debate and divergent amendments that it is not possible to submit them to a decision by electronic vote. This should allow for in-depth debate during Congress of: The IUCN Programme and Financial Plan for the following four years; The mandates of the IUCN Commissions which shall be within the Programme; Topics of strategic importance for IUCN and a limited number of Motions and Motions which relate to IUCN’s governance.
