ActionDescription
Convene stakeholders/NetworkingA number of Thematic Streams but especially Stream 4 discussed the benefits and contributions from PAs to society and in particular to achieve the SDGs. Recognition of the benefits from PAs is also a key element of The Promise of Sydney which have been broadly communicated worldwide.
Policy influencing/advocacyKey finds and recommendations from the WPC on the benefits of PAs will be compiled and distributed to key international processes. It was recommended that an initiative to Inspire a New Generation on the values and relevance of PAs be further developed. Parks Canada is leading on the development of this initiative involving several CEESP and other IUCN members.
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken: 
- Technical and policy statements, based on case studies and research, were complied during the WPC.
- An initiative on Inspiring a New Generation was launched during the WPC and is under implementation.
What challenges have you encountered in implementing this Resolution and what measures have you taken to overcome them?: 
Parks Canada is working with GPAP, WCPA and other partnes to obtain additional resources to further implement this Resolution and the Inspiring a New Generation Iniative.
