Convene stakeholders/NetworkingIUCN Secretariat led the Nexus Dialogue on Water Infrastructure Solutions 2012-2015, which included the review and updating of lessons learned from the development and operations of large dams and hydraulic infrastructure. The dialogue convened governments, civil society and the private sector in regional workshops and a global conference. IUCN PACO has also convened the West Africa regional...
OtherA draft IUCN strategy on dams has been completed to follow up further on the Res 4.089. The next step will be consultations with IUCN Members.
Policy influencing/advocacyIUCN Global Water Programme has joined the environmental chamber of the protocol governance committee of the Hydropower Sustainability Assessment Protocol, working alongside TNC and WWF, with a view to promoting continuous improvement in environmental performance of hydropower.
Scientific/technical activitiesIUCN Global Water Programme is implementing a 4 year scientific assessment of applications of natural infrastructure as nature-based solutions for water storage and infrastructure functions.
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken: 
The Nexus Dialogue provided a platform for sharing lessons and has resulted in publication of a set of 6 synthesis papers on innovation for water infrastructure from environmental, financing, engineerinig and governance perspectives. The process has also contributed directly to the preparation of new financing strategies for nexus-based design of infrastructure, including nature-based solutions, for example by the EU. The West Africa Dialogue on Dams has been instrumental in shaping regional ECOWAS strategy on hydraulic infrastructure.
What challenges have you encountered in implementing this Resolution and what measures have you taken to overcome them?: 
Lack of human resources slowed down progress on finalisation of the revised IUCN strategy on dams.
