Guinea and DRC have nominated focal points for the convention.IUCN was recognised by the AMCEN as influencing organisation that can help countries to understand the need for ratifying the African Convention. As per 2014, four additional countries ratified and deposited the convention (Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, Congo, South Africa). As per 07/04/2014, 42 countries have signed, 12 ratified and deposited.
