Capacity-buildingParticipation to IPBES first capacity building forum (India). IUCN reiterated its strong will to help IPBES.
Convene stakeholders/NetworkingIPBES-IUCN MOU, first area of collaboration to be implemented: support to the implementation plan of IPBES' Stakeholder Engagement Strategy (in-kind contribution of a 1/2 time position).
Convene stakeholders/NetworkingIUCN has provided strong support to set-up and facilitate IPBES-4 Stakeholder days (set-up of the project team, dedicated email, management of the event, facilitation, catering...).
Convene stakeholders/NetworkingIUCN participated to an IPBES' stakeholder day organised in the margin of ICCB-ECCB in Montpellier (August 2015) and presented the latest developments of the Network in relation of the IPBES' Stakeholder Engagement Strategy.

IUCN is now an official partner of IPBES. The overarching MoU with IPBES will ease the implementation of the foreseen areas of collaboration such as: support to the implementation of the Stakeholder Engagement Strategy, support to IPBES priority capacity building needs (urgent, long term...); and support to data and knowledge needs (thematic, regional, global).

Capacity-buildingIUCN will undertake, for IPBES or in collaboration with IPBES, the two first tasks of the Implementation plan of IPBES' Stakeholder Engagement Strategy: Identification of Stakeholders and mapping of the network, and the needs analysis.
Convene stakeholders/NetworkingIUCN keep on supporting the self-organisation of the open-ended, inclusive Network of IPBES stakeholders by providing an in-kind contribution of 1/3 time position to the stakeholder network in order to set-up the elections of its first official committee.
Convene stakeholders/NetworkingIUCN will take part in the 3rd PAN-European Stakeholder Consultation (PESC-3) by giving a presentation on stakeholder engagement and facilitating break-out groups on stakeholder engagement.
