Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken:
The Task Force on Systemic Pesticides has fully implemented this Resolution in this intersessional period. It has produced a comprehensive scientific review of the impact of systemic pesticides on global biodiversity, published in a peer-reviewed journal and widely accepted as a scientific reference document. It has now been cited over 200 times and has received worldwide media attention. Between 2015 and 2016 six symposia (Science & Policy Fora) were held on Systemic Pesticides and their Alternatives in Paris, Berlin, Toronto, Montréal, Manila and Tokyo. The results of the Worldwide Integrated Assessment of the Impact of Systemic Pesticides on Biodiversity and Ecosystems were discussed with stakeholders and experts were convened to identify suitable alternatives to prophylactic use of pesticides in modern agriculture. Global awareness on this issue has increased, and neonicotinoid pesticides are under close scrutiny, as seen in various countries around the world where they are being banned.
