The main activities are being promoted by the IUCN WCPA Specialist Group on Cultural and Spiritual Values of Protected Areas. They have conducted a number of workshops bring together a constituency of experts, and in particular have produced an advanced draft of new Best Practice Guidelines for publication during 2018. One of these workshops was held at the International Nature Conservation Academy, in terms of a partnership between BfN (the IUCN member organization) and the IUCN Secretariat.
What challenges/obstacles have been encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and how were they overcome :
Although some support has been forthcoming, obtaining sufficient financial resources remains a challenge
Briefly describe what future actions are needed for the implementation of this Resolution:
Follow up activities are need to publish the Best Practice Guidelines and to disseminate these to technical and policy audiences.
