Describe the results/achievements of the activities
With the adoption of the IUCN Programme 2017-2020, Members decided to align the IUCN Programme closely to the SDGs. Within the secretariat this translated into a concrete tracking model, by which any reporting is not only done to the Results and Sub Results of the IUCN Programme, but also regarding the different SDGs, in order to keep track of IUCN's contribution to this important agenda.

As an official custodian agency on SDGs indicators, IUCN (Secretariat + Commissions + Members) successfully ensured that a sound methodology exists for any official SDG indicator mobilized by IUCN.

In addition, 2017 marked an important year of policy influencing on SDGs and of SDG related processes. On the basis of this Resolution, a number of position papers were developed that clarified the interlinkaged between the various targets of the SDGs, called for integrated policies at the national level to implement the SDGs and that made the case for a strong participation by civil society in the monitoring and reporting process.

Furthermore, the IUCN Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations in New York organized a series of side events at the United Nations in New York to raise awareness of UN Member States of the interconnection between nature and development.
