The WCEL has been spearheading the development of the Global Judicial Institute on the Environment (GJIE). The statute of the GJIE was approved by founding members in May 2017. GJIE was promoted at various events across the world. A dedicated webpage on GJIE was also created on the IUCN website.
What challenges/obstacles have been encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and how were they overcome : 
The secretariat focal point is not aware of any major issues.

Official registration and operation of the Institute.
