These included: the organisation of a regional technical workshop in the Republic of Korea on protected area management effectiveness, attended by some 34 participants from 12 countries; the organisation of a well-attended side event at CBD COP-14 in Eqypt, on the subject of PA partnerships and the delivery of the Aichi Biodiversity Targets; and the convening of the largest and most diverse Steering Committee meeting in APAP's history. |

Describe the results/achievements of the activities
The Asia Protected Area Partnership has amongst its goals the fostering of transboundary conservation. With a Secretariat supported by the Korean Ministry of the Environment, contributions were made to the World Conservation Leaders Forum with specific sessions devoted to transboundary conservation. An issues brief/background paper was prepared for this.
Challenges/obstacles encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and measures taken
There are several agencies working on transboundary conservation, but their work is not coordinated at the level that it is being reported here. There may be a need to engage with the WCPA Specialist Group on Transboundary Conservation to collate further progress on the implementation of this resolution.
Future actions / activities needed for the implementation of this Resolution
There are many actions needed, among these convening the appropriate networks to better understand how and where the resolutions is being implemented. Through the Asia Protected Area Partnership, there is an opportunity to plan a workshop for APAP member countries and agencies regarding transboundary conservation in 2018.
