Marplasticcs Project ongoing (Southeast Asia and African regions)
Submitted a project for funding with multiple partners and regions. The Project is approved. The Plastic Waste Free Island Project will be developed in 2 regions, Pacific and Caribbean, 3 islands (SIDS) per region.

Future actions / activities needed for the implementation of this Resolution
Alignment and common understanding between stakeholders. We are developing a quantification methodology for measuring plastic debris that needs to be designed in collaboration and accepted by all stakeholders, in order to have a common approach in quantification processes.
Also, there is a need to have a common understanding regarding, protocols for sampling, methodology and definitions around plastic pollution.
