El proyecto IAPA, ejecutado por UICN SUR, trabaja en las ásrea protegidas de Purús y Alto Purús, fortaleciendo al SERNANP y a las comunidades indígenas y locales que habitan en el área. Se les ha capacitado en gobernanza en APs y transformación de conflictos socio-ambientales, siendo la construcción de la carretera el tema más conflictivo identificado por los propios actores.
