We include activities related with "Support for peace and nature in Colombia"in the frame of the project "Integrated Planning for Climate Change and Biodiversity" https://www.iucn.org/theme/environmental-law/our-work/land-use/integrated-planning-climate-change-and-biodiversity. The anual workshops of the project (for the years 2017 and 2018) included presentations and spaces for discussion about this issues in Colombia and how it has to be included in local, regional and national land use planning. The Peace process in Colombia is a challenge for Land Use Planning, since it involves displaced people which are coming back to their territories in which they use to lived before the conflict. Most of these areas were well conserved during the conflict, not because they were declared conservation sites; but because of lack of inhabitants that used to live in these territories before the conflict.
In the frame of the "Integrated Planning for Climate Change and Biodiversity" project we developed land use planniLg guideliness (Integrando las Áreas Protegidas al Ordenamiento Territorial) https://portals.iucn.org/library/sites/library/files/documents/2018-051-Es.pdf
Within this document is also mentioned the relevance of protected areas and land use planning tools not only for conservation purposes, but to poverty reducction and for reach of peace in the country.
We also developed a note in which is mentioned that social aspects are key to considered for land use planning. https://social.shorthand.com/UICN_SUR/3yHxpPOza3/ordenamiento-territorial-san-juan-nepomuceno
