Describe the results/achievements of the activities
The IUCN secretariat has not been focusing so much on this issue during 2019. This is primarily due to resource constrains and the departure of the Interim Director of the Marine program. The issue has been raised in the BBNJ negotiations and also in discussions about OECMs. Some progress has been made on the definition of OECMs and how they relate to enforcing fisheries legislation.
