Education/Communication/Raising awarenessSFI participated in a meeting of the association of Governors and Premiers of the Great Lakes and St-Lawrence to help assist with their development of a program to incorporate biodiversity measurement and valuation under the umbrella of a Great Lakes Impact Investing Platform (GLIIP), aimed at encouraging investment in the Great Lakes basin that will accrue benefits to the environment and society while providing an economic return. Completed
Scientific/technical activitiesSFI developed the SFI Threatened, Endangered and Species at Risk module for voluntary application by Canadian Program forest management companies in the context of their Forest Management certification. The Module is designed to encourage forest managers to document species of conservation concern within their management areas, and report on the efforts being made to conserve and recover those species, both within and beyond any legal requirements.
