The aforementioned IUCN members had contacted WCEL several times by e-mail, and still there was no response. WCEL counseling on the implementation of international regulations is needed, particularly as the process may be similar to that previously developed for the CITES.

Description and results/achievements of activities:
SGE and IGME have kept consulting stakeholders (academic and research institutions, amateur and collector groups, dealers and companies) to prepare, publish and distribute documents, legislative texts, guidelines, scientific studies and other information related with moveable geological heritage, as stated in the resolution. Compilation included best practice examples from Scotland, USA and other countries. Results were presented at national and international meetings, and published in national and international journals.

Still no response from WCEL.

The Spanish IUCN members (SGE and SEDPGYM as NGOs, and IGME as related government institution) kept working on the implementation of this resolution. This has included an assessment of the state-of-the-art at international level, and a proposal of reccomendations for the national level (see publications).
