Description and results/achievements of activities:
In implementation of Res 072, an inter-commission task force has been developed and established, comprised of representatives from CEESP and SSC, as well as CEC upon confirmation at the time of this reporting, and facilitated/supported by member Margaret Pyke Trust (MPT), to assist IUCN to develop guidance on how and why removing barriers to rights-based voluntary family planning can strengthen conservation outcomes in addition to promoting the health, well-bring and empowerment of women and girls. The Task Force developed a Terms of Reference (ToR) in 2021, finalizing an agreed version 16 Aug 2021. Members listed above are represented in the Task Force. The facilitating member, MPT, convened several consultation sessions as well as one full-group inception call to explore workplanning in late 2021. A poster on Res 072 was also developed for sharing at the Marseille World Conservation Congress. Developing awareness-raising/capacity building materials are considered a next key step.
