Activities carried out to implement this Resolution
Capacity-building
Describe the results/achievements of the activities
Development of a guidance document by IUCN Mediterranean office on Wildlife and powerlines, aimed at preventing and mitigating and preventing wildlife mortality due to electricity distribution networks will be published in late 2022. In addition, in 2019 IUCN secretariat published a guidance on mitigating biodiversity impacts associated with wind and solar energy development.
Challenges/obstacles encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and measures taken
We must try to motivate the regulators to frame policies supporting this resolution. The guidance developed by IUCN secretariat and members will help this process but need to engage IUCN state members to help implement this resolution
Future actions / activities needed for the implementation of this Resolution
Work with core team of technical experts to collaborate with regulators and state member to communicate best practice and push for regulatory change in a national and regional context
