Events:
Workshop undertaken at the 2022 National Environment and Recreation Research Conference in Annapolis, Maryland, USA;
- Presentation at the 11th International Conference on Monitoring and Management of Visitors in Recreational and Protected Areas (MMV11) in Jūrmala, Latvia
- Joint-virtual symposium event hosted by WWF, Center for Responsible Travel, and Tourism and Protected Areas Specialist Group
Publications:
- Press release and information-gathering by Yale University School for the Environment to understand implications of resolution;
- Special Issue for the Tourism Planning and Development journal, to focus on R130-related theme of sustainable and resilient nature-based tourism development in the post-pandemic era. 24 abstracts received by the deadline;
- TAPAS Group Member and Vice Chair of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, Dr. Kelly Bricker is writing and releasing an ecotourism book for Apple Press
- 'Nature Positive Travel & Tourism' Report by Animondial, in partnership with World Travel and Tourism Council and the UN Secretariat for Convention on Biological Diversity
Advocacy:
- Building on Yale survey to document IUCN-wide projects, campaigns, and other initiatives affiliated with the eco-/ sustainable( nature-based tourism inside and beyond protected areas, bringing together these for better communication and synergy.
- Develop a bi-annual reporting tool to compile a database of tourism projects and actions about co-sponsors, TAPAS Group members and IUCN Members globally.

Future actions / activities needed for the implementation of this Resolution
Future actions for the implementation of the resolution focus on two primary efforts, including the implementation database which will facilitate exchange and collaborative learning, and the Union-wide synthesis and partnerships around sustainable tourism initiatives. These will increase awareness of sustainable tourism efforts, support policy changes and advocacy, increase the role of sustainable tourism in IUCN events and programme.
