Capacity-buildingThe task force, facilitated by Margaret Pyke Trust (MPT), has defined a first draft of Training Module 1, An introduction to Biodiversity and Family Planning. It is now being circulated within the Training Working Group for comment. This module is one of five to be included in the “Removing barriers to family planning: A conservation, gender, health and human rights issue” training course. On-going
Convene stakeholders/NetworkingIn implementation of Res 072, an inter-commission task force was developed and established, facilitated/supported by member Margaret Pyke Trust (MPT), to assist IUCN to develop guidance on how and why removing barriers to rights-based voluntary family planning can strengthen conservation outcomes in addition to promoting the health, well-bring and empowerment of women and girls. The Task Force is implementing the Terms of Reference (ToR) and workplan developed in 2021. The facilitating member, MPT, continues to convene consultation sessions with task force members to implement the workplan. Part of this process has involved the definition and implementation of Working Groups, assigned to implement elements of the workplan. The task force has also defined and established a communications plan, designed to guide members in their efforts to communicate both publicly and within the IUCN environment.On-going
Education/Communication/Raising awarenessThe task force, facilitated by MPT, has defined a draft communications plan, which is now being circulated within the task force for comment. It has also finalized a task force one-pager, to be used by task force members at events to present the task force and its purpose to outside audiences, and has launched a webpage, found here: https://biodiversityandfamilyplanning.org/ On-going

Capacity-buildingFuture capacity-building actions include the finalization of module 1 of the training course and the drafting of module 2 of the course.
