Description and results/achievements of activities:
The general objective of the Mesoamerican Reef Restoration Network is to share reef and associated ecosystem (marine pastures, mangroves, beach vegetation, and beaches) knowledge, experiences, best practices, and methodologies among experts, technicians, scientists, government organizations, non-governmental organizations in the four countries of the MAR region and the Caribbean. It facilitates collaboration and capacity-building to restore the structure and function of coral reefs and associated ecosystems in the region.

From October 6th – 8th, the 3rd Biennial Meeting of the Network was held online and attended by representatives from more than 30 institutions.
To continue strengthening the RRN, the MAR2R project supported the development of the network’s Strategic Plan, a Biennial Operational Plan and Work Plan.
